I was freediving in Ft. Lauderdale on a reef in about 55 feet of water when I see a HUGE loggerhead turtle. To my surprise he follows me around the reef and all the way ... More»to the surface. At no point was the turtle in any danger as the safety on my speargun was engaged at all times. I spearfish to feed my family and spearfishing has been shown to be the most environmentally-friendly way to fish with the least impact on the reefs and fish populations
